The first annual bass governors cup is in the books. it was a huge success with nearly 43 pounds winning it. The walleye fishing on Lake Oahe is getting better every day, primarily farther north using jigs and minnows or plastics. I did catch some fish around the Spring Creek area in the 20 ft. range. The White Bass are starting to bite, what a great time to be in the boat, or off shore. Minnows below bobbers and casting are both working well. The Walleye and Smallmouth are both biting great down at West Bend, from 10 out to 20 ft. using minnow or pulling plugs. The nightcrawler bite will be starting shortly, it is always a good idea to pack both in the boat. The bluffs and farther down the river are producing good fish in that 15 ft. range on minnows or pulling plugs. Remember to take a child fishing. Pull your plugs as there is a fine if not pulled.
